Taking a partial break
I’ve been feeling down lately, just drained and I am not so sure from what. So I was thining about taking a break for a while. Counting calories, minutes of workout, points, posting, reading about weight loss… it all has taken over my life. There seems to be nothing else besides work and buddyslim and losing weight. I think I am at a point where I need to find some distance from it all.
Now I know that I can not stay away from Buddyslim and all you wonderful people. So taking a full break from BS just won’t work for me
And I don’t want to stop eating healthy either….or working out…. So here is what I will do for this week (or not do
)
I will not count calories, but still watch what I am eating, (Might not be the best idea, but my brain needs a break… no more numbers
)
I will not count my calories burned while working out, (I will still log my workouts, but I want worry about if I did enough. I will do what I feel like and that’s it - only for this week - I know that I have to work hard to lose the weight)
I will not comment as much in the challenges I am in, as I normally do, (I spend way to much time on here)
I will not read any blogs (doesn’t mean I don’t care, I just really need to get my brain thinking about other things for a while),
I will not count how many ounces of water I had (don’t get me wrong, keeping track of it, makes me drink the amount I should - but as said before, I want to give my head a break)
So, I will come here in the mornings, check all the challenges I am in and won’t be on for the rest of the day. I will still keep track of my girls on Longest Loser 6 and Commit to be fit, but besides these two I will step back a little.
I hope it will help to clear my head and get my motivation back ![]()
I felt the same way not long ago. Just burned out and drained, like I was going through the motions but didn’t really have my heart in it. A break can do wonders.
Sabrina! **HUGS** You know, it’s really no wonder you’re burned out. We’re in a few groups together, and you always comment on EVERY ONE’S posts! I wouldn’t fault you one tiny bit for taking a break from all that. And you count all the calories you burn working out? I didn’t realize that… That IS a LOT of counting! OMG!! Enjoy your break! I hope you come back fresh and more energized than ever.
A great strategy, Sabrina. Sometimes all that structure can get to you. A break will help you to re-energize!
Good luck hun. Maybe a break will help you de-stress. That might be why you’re not losing, you’re stressing so much about not losing!

But I understand. 
I think that’s a great idea Sabrina. I can totally understand how it can all become overwhelming. I am sure you will continue to eat healthy and execise without counting every bite and step. We will miss you but I’m glad you’ve decided to put yourself first!
It is a great idea Sabrina. Breaks are essential to this process. Do what you need to, we will still be here. In fact, you will feel liberated!
Like I didn’t get on Saturday at all. At first it was hard but I needed to refocus on Rodney and my family. When I did come on I appreciated the group more. Same goes for exercise. Take all the breaks you need. It will rejuvenite you!

I had to do the same thing a while back. I felt like it was another full time job. I think you will find that you will be refreshed after your break.

I hear ya, sometimes we all need to give ourselves a break.
